The History of The Brethren In Christ

It has been said that the Brethren In Christ are the best kept secret in North America. That concept certainly applies to the cell in Morrison. The BIC - as we affectionately call ourselves - have had a presence in the area for over one hundred years. We first migrated to northwestern Illinois as early as the 1850's

In 1900 we founded Mt. Carmel Childrens Home which was located eight miles north of U.S. 30 on what was then called the Chadwick Slab. The orphanage operated until 1968, when the congregation moved from the country to its present location on the corner of East Knox and Madision.

We are a family of disciples who desire to know Christ and reflect him to others. We are dedicated to being as real as we are relevant; as truthful as we are loving. Faith, hope and love motivate us: Faith in our Sovereign God; hope for others. We endeavor to work out our salvation in the framework of community and relationship. Our vision is to expand the kingdom of God by being a growing, discipling and sending congregation.

The Morrison BIC Church offers an open and contemporary worship style, which will inspire and delight your quest for meaningful worship. Services are regularly held every Sunday at 10:30 am. So, Come Just As You Are and Worship with us. Everyone is welcome!
